After I Hurt You
I cheated. How do I forgive myself? Own what you did without destroying yourself: the hard moment can also be a beginning.
- For anyone who had a hidden relationship and has chosen to look at it honestly.
- 21 days of short daily practices, about 10–15 minutes each, plus a longer anchor on days 7, 14 and 21.
- Not a place for self-punishment, and not a place for easy excuses: real ownership, and real repair.
You might recognize this
- You might recognize this: the lie has stopped working. Someone found out, or one morning you realized you couldn't go on.
- You punish yourself in your head, but the punishment doesn't fix anything.
- You swing between beating yourself up and letting yourself off too easily.
- You want to make amends, but you don't know how to do it without falling apart.
What can change
Over 21 days, little by little, you can begin to:
- Own what you did honestly, without minimizing and without self-flagellation.
- Tell shame ("I am a bad person") apart from guilt ("I hurt someone, and I can act differently"), and move toward the one that repairs.
- See the real impact and build reparative acts, direct or symbolic.
- Re-anchor your values and go on living without punishing yourself forever.
What's inside
Three weeks, three movements. Week one, Ownership: you look honestly, tell shame apart from guilt, and understand moral injury, the pain of having acted against your own values. Week two, Repair: you work with the impact on the other person and build reparative acts, learning an empathy that doesn't paralyze you. Week three, Rebuilding: you look at the real needs underneath, re-anchor your values, and build a self that can go on living without forgetting. Each day has an anchor thought, a cognitive exercise, a micro-somatic practice, a journal prompt and a check-in where you rate the "weight on your chest" from 0 to 10. Days 7, 14 and 21 are weekend anchors of about an hour, with narrative writing and, at the end, a Charter of the Road Ahead.

This is not for you if
- If you are in danger, in a violent relationship, or having thoughts of harming yourself: please get help first.
- If you want a script for winning your partner back. This is about your own ownership, not about managing someone else's response.
- If you're looking for reasons why it wasn't really your fault.
- If you want a replacement for therapy or medical care.
About Florentin
Florentin Iordache is one of Romania's best-known voices on relationships and infidelity — a regular guest on national television and on podcasts, and the host of his own shows about couples, betrayal and the patterns we repeat in love. He is an alternative therapist in Bucharest who works with individuals and couples; he is not a psychologist. in his work, the same thing kept happening. A real insight in one conversation — and then six days alone with it. Between one honest conversation and the next, the old pattern keeps working in your place; it doesn't take breaks. The protocols are what he wrote for those days in between: a few minutes a day, written in advance, so you don't wake up asking “and now what do I do with this?” They don't replace a person beside you. They keep you company until then.
Questions
Is this therapy?
No. This is not therapy or psychological counseling. It is an educational, self-guided practice, and it does not replace working with a licensed professional.
Is this a place to punish myself?
No. Guilt that paralyzes doesn't heal anyone. But it isn't a place for easy excuses either. It's about real ownership.
Do I need my partner to take part?
No. It's written for you alone. Your partner doesn't need to know or to agree. If you both later decide to work on it together, there is a separate protocol for couples, After the Affair.
How long does it take each day? What if I miss a day?
About 10–15 minutes a day. If you miss a day, simply pick up where you left off. The PDF is yours to keep.
What shows on my bank statement?
Your bank statement shows the seller's name, not the title of the protocol.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Request a full refund within 48 hours of purchase using the refund form at /secret-lovers/refund.
