After the Affair
Two people learning to see each other again: not forgetting what happened, but seeing clearly, taking responsibility, and deciding together what comes next.
- For a couple who went through infidelity and have both chosen to open the same page.
- Each of you has your own notebook and your own pace; a few evenings are marked as shared exercises.
- 28 days of daily practice, about 15–30 minutes each. It ends in a new "us," or in a clean parting without hatred. Both are real outcomes.
You might recognize this
- You might recognize this: you've both decided to look at what happened, not to bury it.
- One of you was hurt, one of you did the hurting, and you need a structure that respects both roles.
- Talking about it keeps turning into a courtroom: one accuses, the other defends.
- You want to understand what was underneath: what gap, what pattern, what older wound.
What can change
After 28 days, you will have:
- Named what happened, without minimizing it and without turning it into a weapon.
- Looked underneath the act: what gap, what pattern, what older wound sat below it.
- Started building trust as a daily practice, not a vow, or made a clean parting without hatred.
- Trust is rebuilt over months, not weeks: you finish with more clarity, not a finished repair.
What's inside
Four weeks, four movements. Week one, The Rupture: you name what happened and learn to steady the body in the storm. Week two, The Truth: the one who hurt takes responsibility without excuses; the one who was hurt lets the pain exist without getting lost in it. Week three, The Understanding: who ran, who froze, who attacked, in the body and not only in the mind. Week four, The Rebuilding: trust as a daily practice, and a decision made consciously. Each day has an anchor thought, a cognitive exercise, a micro-somatic practice, a journal prompt and a 0–10 check-in, with a longer anchor on days 7, 14, 21 and 28. What each of you writes stays private unless you choose to share it.

This is not for you if
- If there is violence, threats or control in the relationship, or anyone is having thoughts of self-harm: get help first. This is not a tool for that situation.
- If only one of you wants to do it. It needs two people. If you're alone in this, The House That Shook or After I Hurt You are written for one person.
- If the affair is still going on.
- If you want a referee to decide who was right, or a guarantee that you'll stay together.
About Florentin
Florentin Iordache is one of Romania's best-known voices on relationships and infidelity — a regular guest on national television and on podcasts, and the host of his own shows about couples, betrayal and the patterns we repeat in love. He is an alternative therapist in Bucharest who works with individuals and couples; he is not a psychologist. in his work, the same thing kept happening. A real insight in one conversation — and then six days alone with it. Between one honest conversation and the next, the old pattern keeps working in your place; it doesn't take breaks. The protocols are what he wrote for those days in between: a few minutes a day, written in advance, so you don't wake up asking “and now what do I do with this?” They don't replace a person beside you. They keep you company until then.
Questions
Is this therapy?
No. This is not therapy or psychological counseling, including couples counseling. It is an educational, self-guided practice for two people, and it does not replace working with a licensed professional.
Do we both have to do it?
Yes. It's the only protocol in the family that needs two people. If you're alone in this, The House That Shook or After I Hurt You are written for one person.
How long does it take each day?
Between 15 and 30 minutes, each. Most days you work separately; a few evenings are shared exercises, done only when you both agree.
What if we split up at the end?
That's one of the two endings, and it's written as such. The fourth movement builds either a new "us" or a clean parting without hatred. Both are outcomes.
What shows on our bank statement?
Your bank statement shows the seller's name, not the title of the protocol. One purchase covers both of you.
Can we get a refund?
